流鏑馬
　息づまるような静寂を、馬の蹄が裂いた。馬上から放ためた鏑矢が空を切り、的に当たると、拍手と歓声が杉並木の参道からまき起る。
　五月十七日、 新緑に包まれた下新道で行われるやぶさめは、鎌倉武士以来の伝統礼法を受継ぐ神事である。
　やぶさめの家元・小笠原一門の参加のもと、武者たちは果敢ト華麗を競い合う。

Yabusame Archery
Yabusame, the traditional horseback archery, is presented on the 17th of May, acting on the Ogasawara School, featuring the traditional archery and horseriding techniques. Techniques are handed down since Kamakura era. Samurais shoot three targets from the horseback.
